This project was a recreation of the oil painting shown in the second image. The artist (Clair McLain) is an old family friend and one of a handful of people that put me on a creative path in life. I wanted to accomplish a few things with this project: become more familiar with environment building from reference, understanding UE4 shaders and parameters, skyboxes, post processing, and finally to give a gift of appreciation. This image is being canvas printed and sent out to the original artist (surprise birthday/holiday gift).
I used a combination of Substance Designer materials (to be posted later), textures.com images (grass/leaves) and a lot of wooden planks to get this together in a timely manner.
I took some of my own liberties on the project, of course.
